A surgical face mask, also called a surgical face mask, is designed to be worn by medical staff during surgical procedures. Surgeons designed the mask to prevent entry of infectious material, while also preventing injury to the face during the procedure. Surgical masks function by preventing the nasal air from entering the nose and mouth, as well as blocking out other external irritants that could cause serious damage.

This also allows for a comfortable fit, even after a lengthy stay in a single position. Air-purifying masks can be found in different types to suit all facial sizes.
These devices are commonly used for preventing irritants and infectious particles from entering the airways during times of allergy attacks. When allergic reactions occur in the air, it can cause symptoms such as runny nose, itchiness of the eyes or even difficulty breathing. This is where the use of surgical masks comes in. These devices have been designed to prevent the entry of airborne dust particles to the lungs by fitting over the nose and mouth. The material used for making these masks is usually a mucus solution that prevents dusts from entering into the nose.
There are two types of surgical masks available, the closed medical device or the open type. In the case of the open type, the droplets of medicine are positioned into the nose via the nasal cannula. This system allows the surgeon to direct the droplets of medicine by moving them around the nasal area, according to the level of medicine required. These devices are considered safer than their counterparts because the surgeon can move the droplets around the nose with a simple movement of his hand.
A “Nose Bladder”, as it is commonly known, can also be used in conjunction with a surgical mask. The difference between these two is that the mouth-nose technique creates a larger volume of droplets while the bladder technique only makes small droplets. The nasal cannula is inserted into the nostrils and it is moved to the desired position, thus reducing the size of the nose and facilitating a more even distribution of the volume of mucus produced by the glands.
Before surgery, it is usually preferable to wear an appropriate airtight mask to minimize the discomfort of the face mask. It is important to note that a normal surgical face mask does not have any mechanism that would allow the escape of airborne liquid droplets. For this reason, it is recommended that the first surgical face mask is replaced by a post-operative, disposable surgical face mask. There are disposable and reusable surgical face masks available in the market today.
