A medical face mask is referred to as an air mask since it is used for patients and medical professionals during medical procedures. It is intended to protect health personnel and patients from infections by capturing airborne bacteria and fluid droplets from the patient’s mouth and nasal area. A medical face mask can be used alone or together with oxygen tanks and air compressors. They are often called for emergency use. The mask should not be used by children below a certain age, since the concentration of the substance could be dangerous to them.
There are a number of types of masks available today that are used by different medical professions. The first kind is the rigid foam mask. This kind is mostly used in the treatment of patients with respiratory illnesses such as asthma, bronchitis and emphysema. It can also be used to provide air for the patient’s mouth, nose and ears while he or she is being operated on. A rigid foam face mask can also be used for providing air flow for the patient who has a severe infection in the throat, nose or mouth. They are also used to provide the patient with proper ventilation for the purpose of relieving the patient’s congestion. These masks are used mainly by doctors and nurses for treating patients in these special cases.
The second type of mask is a visor-type which is used for providing nasal air ventilation to the patient. These masks are commonly used in the emergency room because they can easily be used by the staff. The nasal breathing through the nose of the mask helps in reducing or even preventing the occurrence of the patient’s asthma attacks. The mask can be used to provide better protection for the patient with dry cough or sore throat.
Airway devices are also available in the market, which are used to provide proper ventilation for the patient. They have a tube connected to an air inlet located at the front part of the mask. The air inlet can be connected to the air compressor of the mask.
In order to avoid the patient’s air from coming out of the mask’s air inlet, an anti-sniffing device should be attached to the mask. This will prevent the air from escaping from the mask. A face mask can also be provided with a chin strap which prevents the patient’s air from escaping from the mouth.
There are also nasal cannula, which can be used to provide proper air ventilation to the patients’ nose by introducing fresh air into it. and nasal irrigation can also be used. These devices are very useful in removing bacteria and other contaminants from the air coming into the patient’s nose.
