Wearing the Right Face Mask for Acne

A surgical face mask, also called a facial mask, is designed to be worn by medical practitioners during medical treatments. Surgeons commonly use these masks during laser surgery. Facial masks are designed to prevent infections from patients and preserving staff by capturing bacteria shed from the nose and mouth of the wearer. This reduces the risk of cross infection, which can result in more serious health problems. The procedure can lead to severe swelling, bruising and pain.

Advertising policy. There are many companies that make and sell surgical masks on the Internet. In your advertising policy, you have to specify the types of face masks that you will accept for your hospital. You should also determine if you will accept “stretching” or “tummy tuck” masks. Stretching and tummy tucks are not suggested to patients with facial acne breakouts. Stretching or tummy tucks may increase the chance of skin tear and abrasion which are two of the causes of facial acne breakouts.

pandemic preparation. Before buying any facial mask, you should ensure that it is certified for pandemic preparation. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) gives specific requirements for the pandemic preparation of surgical masks. These masks must meet certain quality criteria like the ability to filter out dust particles and air bacteria while still keeping the patient comfortable. It is best to consult your doctor or the hospital’s emergency planning.

Pandemic regulations. To comply with the regulations, you should purchase masks from authorized vendors. If you are buying from unapproved vendors, you should note down their name, contact number and model number before leaving feedback. This will help to trace and contact you if you experience problems with your products. Most importantly, it will give you a chance to correct the misinformation that may be floating around the internet.

Non-surgical face gels. As a general rule, it is best to use non-surgical, oil-free gels to reduce breakouts. The gel should be applied to the skin surface before applying the mask. Gently pat the gel on the surface and then allow it to dry. Regularly wiping the surface will also help in removing excess oil.

The 3 basic layers in a good facial gels. These are petrolatum, mineral oil and alcohol. Almost all the facial skin care brands contain petrolatum, which forms a greasy film on the surface. Alcohol is used as an agent to penetrate deep into the skin to destroy bacteria and viruses that may enter the skin through cuts and scratches. Finally, mineral oil acts as a lubricant and emollient, thus, it is widely used in many skin care brands.
